Book Balm


Reading, especially fiction, is a balm for me. It is my go-to for frazzled nerves, anxious times and difficult ordeals. At the end of a tough day, there is no greater comfort than curling up in bed with a compelling story. A welcome escape from Real Life 101. I think it’s not just me…I can’t be the only one in this particular tribe. I often wish non-readers in my life (and everyone really) were able to experience it in times of trial.

I recently came upon this study that made me realize there are bonus points for this balm of mine: fiction is good for the brain!
